The Fluff:

Rage took long strides towards the watchtower, flung open the door to the endless steps that would take him upwards.  Under his breath he was muttering things, only one of which could be understood now and again.  "Shut up! SHUT UP!  SSSSH UT UP"  It was the red voice in his head trying to silence the yellow one going: "It's them, the pirates, you know it is, they have come for you for killing their captain!  Why didn't you think of this before you took him out?!  They're coming for you!  You'll die!!"
When he finally reached to last few steps he inhaled and pauzed briefly before stepping out into the daylight snatching the looking glass from the guard that was monitoring the ship sailing towards them.  "It has it's stern-ports open, Sir."  Rage ignored him and focused on the lone figure that was looking back at him.  A rather tough looking bloke with a parrot on his shoulder and an eyepatch was looking in his general direction.  As soon as the man spotted Rage looking at him he waved and Rage could have sworn a smile appeared on the mans face.  Rage might have considered waving back if the ship had not raised a pirate flag.  The man on the ship was now gesticulating towards his men.
"From how far out can they hit us?" barked Rage to the soldier that had adressed him earlier.  The man swallowed and sweat broke out on his forhead as he raised his shoulders in ignorance.  "Ready the canons!  Follow every move that ship makes!"  As he counted the ports of the ship yellow yelped at every number and almost screeched when Rage stopped counting at eight. "SHUT UP!" "I didn't say anything, Sir." the soldier squeeled. "Not you, you moron" Replied Rage "You tell them to get the cannons at the ready and fire at that ship as soon as they show signs of hostility"  Rage spun round on his heel and started his descent. Red was back now with only one intent: "let's kill that bastard and make him eat his eyepatch!"
Rage made for the beach, all by himself and as soon as he spotted the ship it opened fire, aiming for the tower he had just left.  A cannonball whizzed past the tower by a few inches and landed on the barn where they stored all gunpowder.  The barn instantly lit up and exploded flying slivers and motes of wood and metal everywhere.  A piece of hinge burried itself in Rages arm drawing blood.  "You will pay for this! I'll make you eat that eyepatch and punch you in the stomach until it comes out the other side!" "Told you he'd kill us" Yellow butted in.  More shots came flying towards where Rage was.  "Why did they not return fire yet? Morons"  Rage started a sprint towards the beach taking him further away from the collapsing buildings behind him.  With every step on the cobblestones the voices in his head grew more and more restless.  He felt the same rush coming in as when he killed Blackheart, red was longing for blood, yellow was begging to back off, blue chimed in sad as ever "How many more blood must flow, haven't we lost enough friends?"  "We have no friends, they are all afraid of us! We must keep it like that so we can rule!" "They will turn against us! You'll see! The Guild cannot be run through fear alone!" "Well you said it yourself there, coward! You can not rule, so shut up! SHUT UP! SH UT  UP!"  Rage could see how the ship was coming about, the ports on the other side were already opened and as soon as the first cannons pointed towards him the flashes of light in the ports betrayed the incoming cannon balls arrival. Finally he heard cannons fire behind him, but the ship was unharmed.  Splashes of saltwater was all that Rage could see.  That damned ship was outside of the reach of the cannons, how big were the cannons on board? "They are going to level this city! With us in it!  I told you, you had better followed Blackheart!  This is his vengeance!  We will not survive!"  "Blackheart is dead, we killed him!" "But it is his flag! The Black with a skull and ..." "Shut up! SHUT UP" As Rage was taking deep breaths the cannonfire died down.  He saw the ship was still turning and shouted : "Cowards! Come back! I'll kill you!  I'll kill you all!"  He started his way up the beach, fist raised high spraying droplets of blood on the sand.  Halfway to the water he spotted a pinnace, sporting the same black pirate flag. "Yes, let him come! We'll kill him!"  On the rowboat a figure could be seen standing in the bow.  Two others were rowing.  It was the man he saw earlier, Rage was sure of it, or there had to be two who carried a bird around on their shoulder. Rage stood there, bloodshot eyes, listening to the voices in his head.  "Listen to me! It might be the last time you will! Flee, there's three of them!" Purple butted in : "Make sure to punish those that stopped firing at the pinnace, they could've solved the problem for you.  Now you have to do it yourself, again." "Killhimkillhimkillhimkillhim" Red was back to his old self.  As soon as the rowboat hit the sand Rage stormed forwards giving in to the red voice between his ears.  A loud bang went off, a red haze clouded Rages view of the man he was charging.  He tilted his head to the left a little and spotted the gun in the hands of the bastard.  He could hear a voice sqwuak: "you got him, you got him." almost in unison with yellow : 'he got us, he got us' The steps towards the stranger were heavier than ever before.  Like somebody put lead in his shoos all of the sudden.  Rage reached for the figure that was now a dark read silhouette, but it sidestepped as a seasoned toreador.  Rage fell flat on his face, tatsing the silt sand between his teeth, and for the first time since he was shot he realised the coppery taste in his mouth.  The taste of blood.  "Are you the new Union Captain Rage?" asked a voice from somewhere" "Say no!  we might live!" "Don't die!! We have to kill him! Kill him!! We shall rule!"  Only purple quieted everybody down.  "It's over.  Best tell the truth"  "I am, what of it" Spat Rage, followed by a big stream of blood. "Oh, nothing", said the voice as it unloaded another lead ball in the back of Rages head.  The ship was still sailing away into the red on the horizon.

That is all, for now!

See you soon,
Bob Out
